Cool.

I'd call this like rock blues or something.

"I dont know if Id call it a bluesy song tho, your style is just way to fast haha. Anytime you wanna do serious rocking you jump right into this very fast thrashing style, which I like because its different, but Idk if I'd call it bluesy."

Well, this progression is 12-bar blues. So yeah, its blues, even though its kinda hard.

Cool stuff, makes me think of a movie trailer or something.
The slow section sounds kinda funny because of the bass line, I'd syncopate it a bit more along with the snare. It sounds too straight to be blues at that section.

The beginning is tight as hell though. :D

Personally, I like the slower section. It's actually not straight, btw. You're hearing triplets. You should know what those are! XD The triplets give it the swing feel of blues songs. So it goes from straight blues rock to a blues shuffle type of thing. Take another listen with that in mind.

Dreamy.

I liked it a lot. The setting is really, really cool. I wanna use it, haha.
You get and 8/10 because of some sour key changes, but I suspect that is the nature of this style. I loved the 0:50 to 1:00. The shake effect you added was really cool.

adompeace responds:

As the title suggests, it was completely improvised. Personally, I thought nearly everything fit with each other despite some weird harmonies. Thanks for the review!

Nice work.

If you've noticed, I've been going through half your songs and reviewing them, lol..

Well, if you like fugues, check out the Well Tempered Clavier by Bach. I'm sure you'll shit yourself :D There's a prelude + fugue for every key, major and minor. The cool thing is, if you play them all, it'll keep your piano in tune, hence the title.

There's one that I played in the back of the second (i think) book that has 5 simultaneous voices, it will move you, I am sure.

Anyway, I loved the song, it's got a great driving feel to it, and the placement of your drum hits are really cool.

Check out some of my stuff, I want to know what you think of it because I can tell you have a better than decent ear. :D

adompeace responds:

I know about the Well Tempered Clavier! Pure awesomeness right there! And I will check out your stuff. Let me just go to your page and...

Nice riff.

You had an 8 until I heard the keys; I'm a sucker for people who play the same instrument as me. :D

Nice work, the flanged(?) drums sound kinda weird with the rest of the music.
I love the melody from the beginning as well as the bass work. Awesome stuff, man.

Yay triangle!

Cool Open/Closed Triangle thing. Nice piano Montuno.
I really don't like the sounds of the electric guitar, though. :(
I would put a cleaner sound, since its latin. Generally in Jazz you don't heard that much distortion or effects on a guitar. Also, at 1:20 the drums don't match what's going on in the rest of the band.
Good effort, but I like your blues better. :D

Haha!

This is great! I used to play a ton of stride tunes from Scott Joplin. A suggestion that will make your music sound like 5x better. I hear that you keep the bass stride note the same, but if you want a truly classic sound, move it up along the chord as you go. You get an 8 for performance and +1 for the idea and effort. :D

Listen to a Breeze from Alabama by Joplin and you'll see what I mean.

adompeace responds:

I'm a noob to stride piano at this point so your criticism is very helpful! Thanks!

Nice work!

I actually have been playing jazz piano for three years now. I played classical for 7 before that. Just to let you know that before this short review.

You sound great! Just a few suggestions, you need a lot more syncopation, and also a few trills and ornamentation wouldn't hurt. :D

adompeace responds:

This was when I was new to the genre so whatever. Glad you liked it, still!

DDR!

Maan, this sounds like it could be the next huge DDR hit :D

Woah!

@.@
