Wow! Another Indian, haha.

I thought I was the only one. :D

I liked the bhangra style beat.. cool tablas and percussion. I think you should pump up the sound on the tabla for sure, and maybe the dholak slightly if your mixer ever lets you. :)

I was really excited to find this, I just think you could have made it more Indian, melodically. Use some Indian scales or ragas. Maybe use some sa-re-ga-ma-pa-dha-ne-sa stuff, I'm sure you know what I mean. :D

I just got back from India a few days ago, and the beat reminded me of there. :)
Nice work.

:D!!!!!!

I came back from india 2 weeks ago :O!!!

I was listening to some Bollywood songs and wanted to sample some Punjabi MC songs but i didnt get the time.

I really want to make some more, indian music is honestly amazing IMO.

Dude give me ur MSN, we can talk about being indian :D.

Thanks a lot for the review!!

Very nice.

First:
"yes, Africa is NOT country, you ignorant morons. This means you, Sarah Palin"
LULZ. Nice.

Now, on to the song. :D
I liked that you worked with percussion this time, its really cool. A few things, though. Whenever the sound fully drops out and then comes back, maybe keep a very soft drum keeping the beat, so that 1) It won't be as startling when it comes back and 2) The listener won't lose track of time during that. Nice Steel drum sounding instrument at 2:40. I really like that melody, man. Very Caribbean feeling. Nice effects on it.

For example, the re-entrance at 3:20 is quite startling. When the song started, I didn't how this could be funk, but by about 4:20, I was thoroughly convinced. This song is one of your best. I'd probably put it in you top 10. You should definately experiment more with percussion, you're good with it. :D

adompeace responds:

Thanks for the suggestions! The startle was kinda cool sounding while I was writing it FYI but your suggestion makes more sense.

I decided to do some experimenting with percussion stuff this time because one of my fans (the guy below this review) usually suggests more complex drumming in my music ("Something more than a beat," as he usually says). And I definitely plan on adding more complex percussion arrangements in the future because after writing this piece, one drum kit sounds like too little! XD

Awesome.

Really awesome hardstyle.
I think this song would really benefit from a 'bouncier' and louder/more prominent kick. I don't know the exact term for this..

Goddamn.. NG needs a Hardstyle genre.
Oh, and 1:44 onwards makes me wanna headbang. Badly.

Z-Tone responds:

a heavier kick?
i think your looking for that word

and what a great feeling making people wanna headbang

Damn.

That beat is haaard.
This is WAY better than the original.
Rock the house, man.

Z-Tone responds:

Thanks alot dude really appreciate it

Chill feel.

Vocals at 00:46 are weird.. :p
I love the groovy break at 1:15.
Really nice synth lead and violins.

Cool drum work at 1:35. I really it when people change up their drums to make them sounds semi-realistic. :D
The FX at 2:15 and all other times are a tad loud and overbearing. The drum work and piano are plenty to keep the listener's attention.
Ending is great!

Overall: Awesome! You gained another fan.. I'm gonna go check out some of your other songs. If you're bored enough, look at my stuff. :)

tijnn responds:

Thanks a lot for the kind review, I personally love the peaks of FX and the vocals. But that's personal preference. Cool that you liked the drums too. (:

Thanks!

Pretty cool.

Cool at 1:31.
Nice chordal work. :D
1:48-2:35 is ajust wesome with the two synths going together.

I would suggest a drum fill, a bass fall, or a synth stutter to lead into the slow section, to give it more notice. It was sudden, but a bit much. And maybe a rev cymbal leading back into the fast section? Just a suggestion. :)

3:35 has got a really weird feel to it. As does 5:20.

I like the melody a lot, you just need to work on the transitions, and this song will be amazing. Epic shredding as usual, I don't even need to say it anymore, lol. It's so much more awesome since its keyboard shredding. :D

Btw, before I head off to college, I need to get a keyboard for my dorm. Any suggestions?

adompeace responds:

Cool. Thanks for the review! And there's a lot to consider when buying a keyboard. I'm gonna PM you.

Cool.

I liked it, I just think it needed a little more fills in the drums.
Theme Init 1 from Nexus at 2:00? lol, that's what it sounded like.
I didn't like the piano work very much, late into the song. The rhythm was too repetitive, and I didn't like the piano melody much.
Ending is cool.

I review and rate people based against their other works, so I give you a 7/10 and 4/5, since Eternity and your remix of Summer Paradise are so kickass. xD

Rawrthaas responds:

Well if you didn't like the piano work much or the melody I guess that's sort of personal preference lol because it is a remix after all :\ . I remixed it because I thought it was an awesome melody actually

Spooky! :D

You definately captured the feeling you were going for. The haunting arpeggio mixes extremely well with the crying violin. Don't be scared to mix instruments that people don't normally mix, experimentation is good! Sometimes you get crap, and sometimes you get a good outcome, like this. :D

atmos929NG responds:

I'll really take that into consideration... sometimes I feel like experimenting more... thanks for your comments! :D

Cowboy Bebop? lol.

The summary sounds like Cowboy Bebop.
Drums are kinda cool. The synth is weird and floaty, but I suppose you were going for that effect. Lotta dissonance again, but it fits this mood. Not too bad, but I think you can do better. :D

atmos929NG responds:

heheh... yeah, summary sounds like cowboy bebop, great episode that one btw... but when one thinks about cowboy bebop, one thinks about bebop genre :D...

Thanks a lot for your comments... although I'll have to research about dissonance since it's the second time you mention that in a review :)... I am not illiterate at all about music theory... I've never properly studied it... I am just a guy that loves listening to lots of genres and that strives to make music all "by ear".

Thanks again for your comments, I appreciate them

Pretty cool.

Very, very nice drums. Try to work in some more eighth and sixteenth notes on the toms.
The electric guitar lead could use some work. It plays a lot of dissonant notes, and if this song is supposed to be relaxing and soothing, that shouldn't happen. The guitar keeps a clean sound for most of the time, but there's some distortion early in the song, which is doesn't really suit the mood. 2:40 was awkward, but when the second guitar/synth came in, it got really nice. I like the duet.. a lot.
Far too many dissonant notes, however. End your musical/lyrical phrases on consonant notes that agree fully with the chord. The drum fill is kind of odd, because it consists of al the same note values, change it up a bit. :D
Nice, overall.

atmos929NG responds:

Thank you!... this certainly could use more work... this is an old track as I mentioned... it's not really in my plans to re work it (I don't even know If I still have the project file), it would be a complete remake I guess.... but not really in my plans... still, I love the tune and mood of it.. :)
